People who want or have to get dental veneers to improve their teeth usually require diagnosis, tooth preparation, and bonding.
The first appointment with the dentist consists of an examination to determine if veneers are appropriate for the person. If the dentist decides that dental veneers are necessary, the tooth of the person will be prepared for veneering by removing ½ millimeter of enamel from the tooth surface. Local anesthesia may be applied for people with ultra-sensitive teeth.
Next, a model of your tooth will be made, which will be sent to a lab where the veneer will be constructed. This usually takes 1-2 weeks. Once the veneer is made, the dentist will fit it to the person’s tooth and examine it. Trimming and color adjustment of the veneer can be done before it is permanently cemented to the tooth. The veneer is then polished and will undergo evaluations once it is permanently fixed to the tooth.
At BridgeView Dental, our dentists proudly offer both traditional veneers and LUMINEERS BY CERINATE. Learn about these two different types of veneers and what your teeth need by calling 512-347-8299.
